Flamenco Guitar
Up for consideration is a vintage flamenco guitar
in the design of Antonio De Torres. It is has been identified
by one Torres expert as a genuine Torres guitar. However, a second
expert thinks it was made by Manuel Ramirez. Your own experts
may well have yet another idea. Nonetheless, here is a rare chance
to pick up a wonderful Spanish flamenco guitar by perhaps one
of the world's most revered guitar makers!!!
I got this guitar from Early Musical Instruments.com. I was an
employee back in the early 1980s in Basle, Switzerland, and wonderful
vintage instruments like this would walk in the door on almost

This guitar has an original spruce top, original Spanish cypress
sides, and a non-original replacement back, and comes with the
original leather case. Unfortunately, there is no label. I have
attempted to give you all the details, photos, and measurements
so you can come to your own determination as to its maker and
authenticity.

CONDITION
This guitar is currently in need of restoration. If it
is a Torres / Ramirez one would want to replace the back and
the back binding, which was not a high quality repair, and is
coming loose. The top binding is also loose in places. The tap
plates are not attached to the guitar but were found inside the
case compartment along with the strings. One of the tuning pegs
is missing.
